Questions employers ask

How does candidate search work?

Verified employers search the profiles of job seekers on Nasi Ispani. You see skills, town, experience level and qualification level for free, then spend one credit to unlock a candidate's name, phone, email and full CV.

What does it cost to contact a candidate?

One credit unlocks one candidate for your company, and the unlock does not run out. A credit costs R10, bought in the Employer Hub from R50 upward. Credits are valid for 12 months, and verified employers start with 5 free.

Do candidates know when I look at them?

They know when you unlock their contact details, and they are told which job you are hiring for. They cannot see who browsed the anonymous preview cards.

Is this allowed under POPIA?

Yes. Job seekers join employer search when they accept our terms, which explain it, and they can switch it off at any time. Employers must be verified, and employers agree that details are used only to recruit for the vacancies they post on Nasi Ispani, their own or, for a recruiter or agency, their client's.

Can I check a candidate's ID or qualifications?

Yes. With the candidate's consent you can confirm their ID against Home Affairs, or run the employee screening, which adds their employment history. Criminal record and qualification checks are not available yet.

Who can see your candidates

Nobody browses our candidates anonymously. Before their first search, every employer agrees in writing to four things:

  • use contact details only to recruit for a vacancy they posted here
  • never sell them or pass them on, or add them to a marketing list (a recruiter may send a CV to its client only after the candidate agrees)
  • keep them secure, and delete any copies they download or save once the vacancy is filled or closed
  • accept that misuse means losing verification and access to candidate search

Before they see anyone’s full name, phone number or email, they also pass our ID check against the Home Affairs record. We record who agreed and when.
