Graduates and final-year National Diploma students in engineering, logistics, finance, HR, marketing, technology and science fields can apply. About the SAB Graduate Internships Programme

SAB is South Africa’s largest brewer and one of its most recognised companies, home to brands like Castle Lager, Carling Black Label, Brutal Fruit and Flying Fish. The company operates 7 breweries and 42 depots across the country, employs a workforce of around 5,000 people and supports a beer economy of over 250,000 jobs from seed to sip. It forms part of AB InBev, the world’s largest brewing group.

The flagship DynamX Trainee Programme is a competitive 24-month development programme built on segmented fixed-term contracts, six-month rotational cycles and cross-functional exposure. It follows the 70-20-10 learning model: 70% of learning comes from challenging projects, 20% from developmental relationships and mentoring, and 10% from formal coursework. Graduates who complete the programme can apply for roles within the business.

Why It Matters

Graduate unemployment hits hardest in the first two years after university, when employers demand experience that new graduates simply do not have. Structured corporate programmes like SAB’s break that cycle: they pay you to learn, rotate you through different functions and give you a track record at one of the country’s most respected employers.

The in-service trainee streams matter just as much, because National Diploma students cannot graduate without workplace placements. With posts spread across Gauteng, the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and the Eastern Cape, this intake reaches young people in most provinces rather than concentrating opportunity in one city.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need work experience to apply?

No. These programmes are designed for graduates and students entering the workplace. Relevant vacation work or projects will strengthen your application but are not required.

Which provinces are the posts in?

The DynamX programme is based in Sandton, Gauteng. Quality and Brewing in-service posts are at breweries in Newlands (Western Cape), Polokwane (Limpopo), Prospecton (KwaZulu-Natal), Ibhayi (Eastern Cape), and Rosslyn, Alrode and Chamdor (Gauteng).

How much does the programme pay?

SAB does not publish trainee salaries in the adverts. Remuneration is confirmed during the application process.

What happens after the 24-month DynamX programme?

The programme is made up of fixed-term contracts with evaluations at each phase. Successful trainees are well placed to apply for permanent roles within SAB and the wider AB InBev group.
