A permanent opportunity is available for an experienced IT Sales Administrative Assistant, also referred to as an Inbound Sales Administrator, in Green Point, Western Cape. The successful candidate will support IT procurement and sales operations while working with hardware, software, subscriptions and technology solutions.

About the Role
The employer is a busy Managed Service Provider (MSP) that provides IT procurement services to clients in the SME sector.
The successful candidate will handle inbound sales queries and provide administrative support across the sales process. Approximately 90% of the role involves desk-based administrative duties, including preparing quotes, processing invoices, managing proposals, coordinating supplier logistics and responding to client queries by telephone and email.
You will also work closely with internal departments, including Accounts and Technical teams, as well as solution architects. The role requires someone who is comfortable with IT terminology and can understand technical requirements relating to desktops, servers, networking devices, Microsoft licensing and other technology solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Handling inbound sales enquiries via telephone and email
- Preparing quotes, proposals and invoices
- Providing IT procurement services for clients
- Liaising with suppliers to negotiate suitable solutions and competitive deals
- Managing supplier logistics
- Responding to customer email and telephone queries
- Working with Accounts, Technical teams and other internal departments
- Understanding client technical requirements and recommending suitable solutions
- Building strong relationships with clients and suppliers
- Coordinating installation schedules with the Helpdesk and Technical Leads
- Maintaining client accounts
- Identifying potential upselling opportunities
- Assisting with the growth of the sales department and product offering
- Building sales reports for directors
- Attending courses and training to improve IT product and sales knowledge
- Meeting tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of customer service
IT Knowledge Required

Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Diploma required
- A BCom degree or relevant industry certifications would be advantageous
- At least 5 years of administrative experience
- At least 2 years of IT experience preferred
- Solid understanding of IT terminology and technology products
- Strong maths and numerical skills
- Ability to identify patterns in data
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using QuickBooks, Pastel or Xero
- Good understanding of Microsoft products and licensing
- Dell or HP certificates and/or strong product knowledge
- Knowledge of desktops, servers and hardware specifications
- Networking product knowledge
- Adobe product knowledge
- Apple Mac product knowledge
- Ability to maintain client accounts
- Good communication and relationship-building skills
- Friendly and positive attitude
- Well-spoken and well-presented
- Passion for technology and willingness to continue learning
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- A manual driver’s licence is preferred
Salary and Benefits
The successful candidate can expect a monthly salary of:
R18,000 to R25,000 per month
